My name is Brysen A Young, and I will be one of the Co-Executive Directors for the Coalition of Black Organizations. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Arizona double majoring in Law and English.
I’ve spent my first year at the University of Arizona being very involved on campus. I was the Ambassador for Men of Color Arizona, Social Media Representative for AASA and the Financial Aid Peer Advisor at AASA. I was also a part of Natalynn Masters’ ASUA presidential campaign team under the special events committee. With these positions, I was able to interact with Black students in ways that were memorable, thought-provoking, and worthwhile. I expect the same to hold true for the upcoming school year.
As your Co-Executive Director, I am excited to help make the Black college experience at the University of Arizona greater. This will be done by introducing new and old Black students to the wonderful and diverse organizations under COBO, putting students in settings that make it easier for them to join the club(s) that interest them, and much more. With everything your COBO executive board has planned for you this year, this will definitely be one for the books.
