KC Williams graduated from Stanford University with a BA (Honors) in Social Psychology and Interpersonal Processes and a MA in Sociology. She had taught college Sociology since 1989, between full time positions doing public relations work for the USAF, community groups, and small businesses.
KC has always been interested in social justice and education, writing a college honors thesis addressing the correlation between race, parenting, administrator attitudes, and peer pressure and the likelihood of Black students taking AP/Honors classes. Recently, she’s penned essays on "Teaching While Black"
for Inside Higher Ed and a piece for Third Woman Press’ inaugural anthology titled, “Pushing Back: Strategies of Resistance against Contrapower Harassment and the White Male Gaze in Academia.” She blogs at http://amplifyvoices.wixsite.com/kcwilliams.
KC is married to her childhood sweetheart and they have two grown sons and a black Lab named Sherlock!
